The current initiative was conceived with the same spirit that inspired the launch of University Games or Universiade, a combination of the words university and Olympiad. The First World Student Games were organized in 1924 and invited university athletes from all over the world.
Although in Argentina there is record of Olympics in some universities of different careers or reduced to a particular disciplinary area. The new approach is in the fact that this is the first time that the Olympic Games will take place for the career of Veterinary Science, gathering students from Public and Private Universities of Argentina. In addition, it is an open invitation for students from universities of member countries of UNASUR, in which students have a great responsibility as a social network. This justifies the need of social awareness and fulfillment of the commitment of future professionals in the human and social sustainable development of the region. Promoting the socioeconomic and political contexts, as well as incorporating the concept of belonging in regional areas founded by diversity, interculturality and solidarity. Considering that, not only the academic but also the social, political and cultural problems demand a treatment capable of joining the local, regional and international dimensions. We understand it is necessary, from the universities, to generate spaces that surpass the idea of professional training, with new abilities and social and professional competencies.
In this regard, the objective is based on the idea of the human being as a global entity, made up of three dimensions: the biological, psychological and social dimensions. Therefore, he assumes that his education must be promoted with a comprehensive and pluridimensional sense that favors the harmonic development of his physical and psychomotor skills, as well as the affective, cognitive, attitudinal and social aspects of his personality. Therefore, tests are proposed to consider three educational components: academic, artistic and sports.
In all cases, a group modality is expected with the express intention of promoting the sense of belonging through socialization. The internalization of values such as shared effort, communication and positive interaction, social and personal responsibility, altruism, solidarity and confraternity. Promoting the recognition of different individual abilities that contribute to the strengthening of civic and democratic values, such as mutual respect and coexistence with diversity, as well as common rules that guarantee equal participation. The achievement of collective objectives depends on cooperative teamwork, and the individual interests are subject to general interest. The latter values are key to the concept of responsible and committed citizens that the university must promote when training students.
Therefore, and although the agnostic aspect is the most appealing, the competence is offered here as a space for dialogue, interaction, self-improvement, recreation, and promotion of social values. We expect that during its development, this Olympic spirit, created from the meeting of diversity, physical, intellectual and artistic skills, is experienced intensely among students and is irradiated equally towards the community. *Diego and Sanders (2001) conclude that students with a higher exercise level have a better parental relationship (intimacy, quality in relationships, affective manifestations, and family support), are less depressed, spend more time doing sports, use drugs less frequently and have better grades than students with a lower exercise level.
